Vaginal Shapes You Should Be Aware Of
There is no set standard for vaginal shape. Short, long, curved, or inward shapes are all possible. Age, pregnancy, childbirth, and menopause can all cause changes in the shape of the vagina. Lay down with your legs apart and a mirror in front of your vagina to see the shape of your vagina.
Learn about the various vaginal forms.
Before you can recognize the different types of vagina, you should first understand the anatomy of the vagina, particularly the lips of the vagina or vulva.
The vulva appears as a fold of skin on either side of the vaginal opening. This skin fold is divided into two sections: the outer lip, also known as the labia majora, and the inner lip, which leads to the vaginal opening, also known as the labia minora. Pink, brown, or black are also options.
Knowing these parts will help you identify the shape of the vagina. The following are the various vaginal forms:
1. Outer lips that are curved
The vagina, with its curved outer lips, is shaped like an inverted horseshoe whose ends meet. Typically, the curved outer lips reveal a portion of the inner lips.
2. Vaginal lips that are asymmetrical
This asymmetrical vaginal shape is very common in women and is characterized by one side of the labia minora being longer and thicker than the other.
3. Protruding inner vaginal lips
Women with this vaginal shape typically have longer and thicker labia minora than labia majora. Because of this condition, the lips inside the vagina protrude slightly beyond the outer lips, exposing a portion of the labia minora.
4. Protruding outer vaginal lips
Along with the inner lips, the outer lips can be longer and thicker to cover the entire labia minora. This type of vagina has thinner vaginal skin, so the impression is a little loose.
5. Inner vaginal lips that are long and dangling
This is the same shape as the vagina, but with the inner lips protruding. It's just that the majority of the labia minora has passed through the outer lip and appears dangling. Extra skin or folds at the end of the labia minora are common in women with this vaginal shape.
6. Long and dangling outer vaginal lips
There is a vaginal shape with long and dangling outer lips in addition to the inner lips. This form is distinguished by thin and loose skin on the vaginal lips. These folds on the outer vaginal lips can also form slits, allowing the labia minora to be seen.
Keep in mind that your vaginal shape does not have to match the various vaginal shapes shown above. You may have a unique vaginal shape that distinguishes you from other women. Furthermore, the shape and size of the vagina have no effect on sexual function or orgasm.
Regardless of the shape of the vagina, if you experience pain, discomfort, or a very sensitive vulva, consult a doctor to determine the cause and how to treat your condition.
